Good morning beautiful people, the earth says hello!

I love Genting Highlands and i am proud to say, I'm loving my life as I go up to Genting almost every week. This week, I went up two times, sounds lifeless, but that's how i enjoy my life, problem? What do I like about Genting Highlands? Although Genting Highlands is very developed, I love the view of the nature from up there. I love the breeze and I love how I can see the whole city of KL from the top if it is not misty up there. And Genting Highland is always packed with people, I love it. I love to observe people's facial reaction and attitude, love to pre-judge them in my head.

Besides that, since I love food. I take lots of pictures of food.

I discovered this place called The Bakery, Genting Highlands Resort.

This is Wild Mushroom Quiche served with fresh salad. Guess what? This is only RM 5.80+

This is Green Tea Cheese Cupcake. The top layer is melted marshmallow coated with powered green tea. RM4.50+

Open it up, see the read bean inside? not really a fan of red bean with green tea, but I totally enjoyed this. I mean who will ever guessed that green tea will go so well with cheese and red bean?

I ordered the quiche again because I was craving for some salad as well and i ordered Double Chocolate, served with hot cup of milk with 4 sticks of chocolate and a wooden stick with a block chocolate.

This is what you do.. throw ALL the chocolate into the milk

melting... melting... melting.. still melting..

and then, you stir it with the spoon.

There you go, a nice cup of hot double chocolate. yummy!

We had a surprise-belated birthday celebration for Nellie as well.

It's just a very short trip to Penang, although it's a 3D2N trip but we didn't do much due to the time constrain. I didn't had much food in Penang Island, which was such a waste because I'm a vegan and food in Penang Island are mostly, non-vegetarian. Well more like, we didn't hunt for Vegetarian food. But overall, it was a good trip! Had good companies and met a few nice people. Next time, when I'm not a vegan, I'll photoblog about Penang Island again, this time it will be ALL ABOUT THE FOOD.

I've always wanted to share how awesome Banana Leaf Rice is from Kavitha's Curry House which is located in Section 5, Petaling Jaya or better known as Gasing Hill, PJ.

In case you do not know what Banana Leaf Rice is, let me Wiki it for you.

Banana leaf rice is a typical dish in South Indian cuisine. In banana leaf rice, white rice (or parboiled rice in authentic South Indian restaurants) is served on a banana leaf with an assortment of vegetables, curried meat or fish, pickles, and/or papadum. Most of the time, however, only the gravy of the curry will be served and no meat is served as it is meant to be a traditional Indian vegetarian dish. The banana leaf is used as it is believed that the hot rice will release the coating on the banana leaf, which aids in digestion.

It is a "must try" the Signature Salted Fish Curry! Since we came a little too early that day, we actually waited an hour plus for the curry to be done! worth the wait! It is more advisable to go to this place after 12pm.

I love my banana leaf rice flooded with curry and tairu (fresh yogurt), but in this case, I was vegetarian that day and I felt guilty eating too much of meat. Shouldn't be eating meat at all, but how can i resist? :O

It is traditionally eaten with the hand. If you don't, you're defeating the whole purpose of eating Banana Leaf Rice, really. So let's use God's given gift and get messy!

In Malaysia, to show your appreciation after a satisfying meal, fold the banana leaf towards you to signify that the meal was good and delicious. Folding the opposite direction signifies that the meal was not satisfying. I fold it upwards because I was freaking satisfied. The cup act as a weight, or else, your banana leaf will open up again, like duh. lol!

A little too late for this blog post, been really caught up with activities and informal events! Life's good. Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Brazil on the 26th of November 2011, held at KL Live. Performance was by Clinton Sparks, DJ Von Kiss, DJ Mr.Gin and DJ Nikki.

Love how they crafted the invitation! The keychain, for the girls, was placed in a box (which i forgot to take a picture of it) as a door gift. As for the gentlemen, it's a really nice necklace which i wanted it so badly! On the left, that's a picture by a pretty lady with a camera, snapping polaroid picture for the attendees during the event! each of us girls got our own piece of photo, so imagine, we had to snap 6 times!

Lei Cha - Pounded Tea

Lei cha (擂茶; léi chá; literally "pounded tea") is a Hakka tea-based beverage or gruel consisting of a mix of tea leaves and herbs that are ground or pounded together with various roasted nuts, seeds, and grains. The tea is drunk for breakfast or on cold winters as a tasty and healthy restorative. Lei cha is very popular in Taiwan, Southern China, Malaysia as well as any locales with a substantial Hakka diaspora population.

Various vegetables, nuts, herbs, taufu, beans are all in a bowl of rice. Looks yummy cause I personally love vegetables!

Here come's the bowl of green tea.

How to eat Lei Cha?

Just scoop the green tea into your bowl of grounded vegetable rice.

Then if you like, you can add some salted vegetables and peanuts into it.

Traditionally lei cha is a savory brew; in contemporary interpretations it is often consumed as a sweet drink. This is called "Special Drink". Why is it so special? Cause it contains nata de' coco, cincau, pineapple chunks, and longan all mixed together. More like a fruit punch to me.

As much as I love green tea and vegetables, I didn't like "leicha". My tastebud just couldn't accept it.

Things I love about Sony Alpha Nex-5

#1. Tilting LCD.
It tilts up to 80 degrees and down 45 degrees. For difficult angles, you don't have lay down on the floor to capture it. And for the guys, this is an opportunity to get some pictures under the table, if you know what i mean ;)

#2 Awesome sweep panorama.
This was a photo taken in Subang Jaya, directly from my Nex-5 without editing.

#3 It works like a D-SLR.
Aperture? Shutter Speed? Background defocus? Anti Motion Blur? Its all in here! Lots of scene selections too!

#4 If the kit lens is not enough for you, get more lens :P
I personally bought a 16mm Wide-Angle Lens that cost me around RM 699.

#5 Detachable flash is included.

The flash is quite satisfying.

#6 You can purchase the lens adapter to use Sony DSLR A-Mount series lenses.

#7 You will probably find it weird that a DSLR has no viewfinder? well, you can purchase an external optical viewfinder and attached it to where the flash is.

#8 Since i recently found interest in videography, this mic will do good in my videos. Best thing is, this mic only cost around RM399. Surprisingly cheap!

#9 HD recording! These are two videos recorded with Sony Nex-5 for my college project. Be sure to watch in HD so you can see the quality!

#10 Panoramas in 3D

Apparently you can take panoramic shots in 3D that enables you to view images in breathtaking 3D dimension when you connect to a compatible 3D TV. I do not have a 3D TV, but i still find it very fascinating.

Then, it's party time.

There were games and fun interactives like photo booth where photos are taken and people get the chance to edit them. Plus there were also bars at the entertainment hall for those who can't wait to taste them good stuff of Hennessy. Well, for me, if I was a little bit late, I managed to hop on the bar to greet my friends that was working there and straight went off to the party zone P.

It was already packed at the Zone P area when i arrived and everyone was already crowding around the bar for those free flow of drinks. There were serving Hennessy V.S.O.P signature long drinks; Hennessy Apple, Hennessy Berry, Hennessy Ginger and a new addition, Hennessy Soda. By the time I got my second drink, what was left was just Hennessy Ginger, so, I didn't managed to try everything. Performance wise wasn't really the best but I did enjoy myself when Chris Willis and Yolanda Be Cool was performing. *screams*

My First Guitar

When i was was younger,

I had a baby piano that was passed down from my brother,

when the baby piano came to my use, it was already more than 12 years old.

it looks like this,

just that it was green, and it was better condition than this.

i had to google this picture 'cause i couldn't find this piano anywhere in my house

No one exactly taught me how to play.

The only song i was taught, was "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".

We do not have have anyone that is interested in music in the house.

So, I self-thought myself with numerous nursery rhymes i hear from the nursery rhyme cassettes my mom used to brainwash me with.

I still know how to sing some of the chinese nursery rhymes!

So then, my mom thought that I actually have a talent in it.

So introduced me to another new instrument,

A musical keyboard!

Again, it was passed down, from godknows who.

I, then thought myself a few songs.

Fur Elise was one of it.

At the age of 7,

My mom wanted to send me for piano lessons.

But i wasn't fortunate enough, i didn't have anyone to fetch me to classes.

So, my dream was gone.

Not exactly gone, i just didn't bother chasing it.

But i always have a passion in it, until now.

Few years back,

I found that I really want to learn playing a guitar.

But again, my parents thought that it will just be another interest that i would love to do my trial and error on.

So they didn't exactly bother hearing me out.

So, once a while, I'll steal my friend's guitar and strum.

No, this time, i don't have the talent!

I make horrible rhythms! but i thought it was nice *rockstar \m/

Somewhere around last year,

I was introduced to

Metallica - Nothing Else Matters.

I feel in love with it.

I even told myself that this song will be the first song I'll learn to play.

ambitious as i am, i tried playing.

I was briefly taught by a few people to play this song during stayovers.

*thank you*

One day, I participated in a bazaar and had my Boutique's product on sale.

My booth was directly in front of Yamaha, with pretty pretty guitars!

Temptations was killing me the whole day.

I finally went in to Yamaha, and asked for an acoustic guitar, for enquiries.

I fell in love with one of it, and i know for sure i'm bringing it home.

So, I tried my luck, I told my parents about it on the day itself. It was non-responsive.

When i told them again about it the next day,

they asked me when did i asked cause they didnt hear me.

sheesh parents.

2 weeks later, I saw my dad was on MSN.

So i randomly asked,

i was just trying my luck.

and he said TOMORROW?!

The smile on my face couldn't beat anything, not even when a guy gives me a diamond ring.

I could afford to buy a guitar anytime, but i didn't want to. i wanted my parents to get it for me. It's been awhile since I've gotten a gift from them. I've been buying my own stuff for years, thinking I'm old enough to not burden my family.

But, having my parents trusting me that I would not give this up, and having them supporting me in what I like to do, is all i wanted from them.

This therefore is priceless.

We headed over Yamaha the next day after my class,

And bought it :) it was about RM390.

and he told me I do not need to pay a cent for it.

*thanks daddy*

Dad even wanted me to go for classes.

I refused.

I came home, and tadaaaaaaa!

Took my first picture with it as a remembrance!

Its been almost two weeks with it.

I learnt to play a little bit of Nothing Else Matters through youtube.

and seriously youtube is the best place for self teaching.

I have a channel that would help you if you're thinking of learning guitar yourself.

Nail Guitar Skills

Here, they teach you chords, songs and everything. Best thing is, they guide you step by step with figures as well! Its really a good channel. I learnt a lot from it.

And if you have a Mac, Garageband is another alternative to selfteaching.

In Garageband, you can download beginners' lessons and later on, you can buy lessons on how to play any song you wish to learn.

There's also a really useful tuner in it that tells you to either tighten or loosen the guitar string you want to tune until you get the perfect tuned note. Just press command-f in your Garageband and you will see it. You don't need to get the device for it, all you need is a MacBook!

I'm really grateful I have technologies that is helping me learn to play the guitar.

See how the world is changing?

When I wanted to play the piano, I didn't even have youtube to guide me how to play.

So far, I've learned The Beatles - Let It Be and a small part of Metallica - Nothing Else Matters.

I wish i could spend more time on my guitar, but life is more than just strumming the guitar all day long.

My friend, Seth Borges, a soon-to-be famous rockstar, introduced me to this song
